Beyond the Basics – Sewing Machine Feet Sewalong
Join me on Friday 16th April for a couple of 90 minute Beyond the Basics – Sewing Machine Feet Sewalong sessions. Using the correct feet for the job – and then expanding their use for other techniques is a passion of mine that I love to share. It makes sewing easier and more fun! The first session covers three basic feet and then we move on to the second session for some creative stitching. You can join one or both – totally up to you. And don’t worry if you can’t make the time, they are recorded, so you can watch back in your own time and at your own pace.
Fun with Feet 1 – Beyond the Basics – Friday 16th April 2-3.30pm – £15
In this first 90 minute session you will learn to get most out of three basic feet – Blind Hem Foot, Overedge/overcast foot and Buttonhole foot. Learn to recognise them, use them for their designated purpose successfully and then how to expand the use with perfect invisible hems, decorative hems, applique and attaching trims. Get creative with the overedge foot, make creative tucks, beautiful edges and of course, neaten raw edges. Then expand your use of the buttonhole foot make corded buttonholes and learn to make extra long buttonholes. You will make a series of samples to build up your own portfolio.
Fun with Feet 2 – Creative Stitching – Friday 16th April 4pm – 5.30pm – £15
This class is a great way to get creative with some specialist feet – or learn the techniques without them! Use your cording/couching foot to provide surface decoration that adds a new dimension to your work. Hemming feet can not only create perfect rolled hems but scalloped hems or add thick cords on the surface. And then for the Wow factor, learn to stitch perfect decorative circles with a circular stitch attachment – or a drawing pin! Lots of fun and lots of decorative options.
